An outstanding comedy - this is a Peter Shaffer masterpiece – splendidly theatrical and extraordinary in its perceptions it is his sharpest, wittiest, most passionate and elegant play.

It's humour is subtle and guaranteed to “Enlarge, Enliven and Enlighten!” It is the story of Lettice and Lotte, two women whose lives collide. Lettice is an innovative tour guide whose passion is to celebrate the richness and pageantry of the past - even if she has to invent the odd detail! While Lotte represents officialdom and a more rigid approach to any historical facts surrounding the stately homes of Britain which she monitors studiously.

Great attention has been paid to creating an impressive set and colourful costumes to give “Lettice and Lovage” the rich background it demands. Director Peter Meikle has enhanced the considerable talents of the cast. Selina Mackie, Juliet McLean, Jeff Sanders, Gloria Webby and company light up the script with their vitality and dedication to a unique story. This is truly an enchanting play. It will stay in the memories of those who come to see it. As we have already said – from the moment the theatre is entered, the excitement begins. Be early and be ready!
