The music of Schumann is a particular passion of Steven Isserlis', whose interpretations of his chamber music have been widely acclaimed. In this concert Isserlis looks back at the composer's tragic life, revealing the intimate relationships between Schumann, his wife and Brahms by means of their music and their passionate letters, for the most part written during Schumann's last years in an asylum at Endinech.
