New Zealand arts and literature programmes screen between ads for adult nappies and denture cleaning fluid, either at the crack of dawn or in the depths of the night.

Hamish Keith shares stories from the making of “The Big Picture”, also the name of his latest book, on the history of New Zealand art. Hermione Lee presented the pioneering 1980s UK book review programme “Book Four”, and Colin Hogg produced “The Book Show” and now “Talk Talk”.

Chair: Noelle McCarthy
