Due to popular demand, the quirky offbeat comedy MILK! Returns for a special extended season!

For those that missed out on seeing MILK the first time round, three extra shows will give punters the chance to see this little gem of comedic theatre. From the savant mind of Trygve Wakenshaw comes a surreal look at the history of dairy farming in New Zealand – if cows could talk, that is…

Milk is the new offering from Theatre Beating and features a hilarious ensemble cast complete with cow costumes, witty social commentary and some of the most outrageous prop gags you've ever seen. The sleeper show of the NZ International Comedy Festival, MILK transports the audience into a surreal world where cows not only have feelings, hopes, dreams and disappointments but also struggle with the rural urban drift, drug abuse and the loss of loved ones.

Onion (Barnie Duncan) is obsessed with getting over the fence and reaching paddock 3H, where the grass is obviously greener; the beautiful Daisy (Sophie Henderson) struggles with confidence issues and can't tell whether the enormously endowed stud bull Juan truly loves her or just wants her for her body; Mrs Clover (Trygve Wakenshaw) is the perennial optimist choosing to ignore the realities of the world and instead focusing on the simple pleasures of life and Dumbsy (Kate Simmonds)… well Dumbsy is basically a semi-retarded cow with great legs. Thrown into the mix is a lonely farmer (Brett O'Gorman) who has spent just a bit too much time alone with the animals whose sexually frustrated world is upset when a gorgeous milkmaid arrives for work experience – the cumulative result is a bizarre trip into a psychedelic and vibrant world which might just turn you vegetarian for all the wrong reasons.

This is a fantastic, easily digestible show that is best seen with some friends after a few drinks and will have you alternately howling with laughter at the outrageous slapstick and raising eyebrows at the acute social observation of the Kiwi mindset.

If you missed the NZ International Comedy Festival or if you are just sad it's all over, don't waste time on the couch at home; come and have a drink and a laugh at the scandalous MILK! The Truth About NZ Dairy Farming.
