The unveiling of a statue of Marlborough's first wine maker, David Herd, a Scotsman who pioneered wine making in the region in the 1870s at his vineyard named Auntsfield.

The statue is created by sculptor John Fuller based on an old photograph.

It was commissioned by the Cowley family, current owners of Auntsfield Estate, a modern vineyard on the original site, close to the Blenheim Airport.

Historian Ron Crosby will speak about David Herd's life.
