The Harlequin Players community theatre group is pleased to bring to the stage these school holidays, a wonderful take on three well-loved children’s classics.

Adapted by Harlequin Players for a special group of young actors, Aladdin, with 12 Dancing Princesses and Dorothy in Oz will be performed by more than 40 children aged between six and 17 years.

Cute, funny, exotic, dramatic and plain barking mad are just some of the characters set to entertain and delight families and the show is original, fun and full of action.

The young cast will transport their audience through wondrous lands filled with adventure, beautiful costumes and more than a few surprises!

Fantasy leaps to life as Aladdin's daughter Sharah and a resourceful Genie visit far away lands in this original presentation.

First they journey to Austria where 12 princesses with a secret kick up their heels and dance the nights away. Next they visit the land of Oz where all manner of strange creatures delight as Dorothy and her faithful dog Toto embark on their long, eventful journey along the famous yellow brick road, somewhere over the rainbow.

Aladdin, with 12 Dancing Princesses and Dorothy in Oz runs during the second week of the school holidays, at the Rangi Ruru Theatre in Merivale Lane.
