The tales of the fun-loving prankster Pippi Longstocking come to life on stage during the October school holidays at Hawkins Theatre, Papakura.

Tim Bray Productions presents Pippi Longstocking at Hawkins Theatre, Papakura from 7-11 October with a special season for school groups running from 15-17 October.

With her flaming red pigtails and topsy-turvy world of fun and hi-jinks living on her own in Villekulla Cottage, Pippi Longstocking has been an enduring favourite of children around the world.

Producer Tim Bray says the show blends together a number of Pippi Longstocking stories in one fun-filled show. Adapted by Tim Bray from Astrid Lindgren’s classic stories, Pippi Longstocking features Louise Harris as Pippi with original songs by Christine White.

Tim Bray Productions has been staging professional children’s theatre productions at Takapuna’s Pumphouse Theatre for five years and this year is taking the company’s hugely successful production of Pippi Longstocking to other theatres in the Auckland region.

“We wanted to give children in other parts of Auckland the opportunity to enjoy this fun story,” Tim says.
Pippi Longstocking had a season at TAPAC, Western Springs in July and will be staged at Howick Little Theatre from September 29 to October 4.

Tim Bray Productions is also staging a new production – an adaptation of Margaret Mahy’s The Dragon of an Ordinary Family at the PumpHouse Theatre from September 27 to October 11.

Previous productions presented by Tim Bray Productions include The Owl and The Pussycat, Roald Dahl’s The Twits, Mahy Magic, The Wind In The Willows, The Man Whose Mother Was a Pirate, The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch and The Santa Claus Show.

Pippi Longstocking is at the Hawkins Theatre, Ray Small Dr, Papakura from 7-11 October with performances at 10.30am and 1.00pm daily. Book at iticket on (09) 361-1000 or online at Bookings for the school season from 15-17 October can be made by phoning (09) 360-2265 or emailing
