Carry your blues away with two of New Zealand’s finest blues and roots masters - Midge Marsden and Hammond Gamble, as they tour the length of the country “From The Bluff to The 90 Mile”.

As a Rocktober special, Brent Eccles Entertainment present two Kiwi blues legends at a venue near you for a show that simply can’t be missed. Each artist performs a selection of his finest and most loved songs in back to back full-length sets with a combined encore that will bring the house down.

They’ve been friends for more than three decades; shared billings at the infamous final ‘Sweetwaters’ festival in ‘99 and ‘All Stars Play The Blues’ tour, supported The Eagles, Joe Cocker, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Fleetwood Mac; won admiration and recognition for services to music; and received accolades at both the APRA Silver Scroll Awards and the New Zealand Music Awards.

“I’m really looking forward to the tour and catching up with my old mate Midge” says Hammond. “We’ve been involved in so many shows together over the years and it’s great that this time we not only share the stage but perform together at the end of the show”.

“Hammond and I have spoken about doing this for years … now it’s time” says Midge.

A recent release in the Liberation Blue Acoustic series, ‘Travel N Time’ captures possibly some of Midge Marsden’s finest work to date and as told by Midge “It seems I went through my whole personal history to select songs for this album. Here are just some of them.”

The tour also coincides with the release of Hammond’s latest album – ‘Ninety Mile Days’, a fitting collection of all new originals covering the electrifying gamut of Gamble’s styles from McCartney-esque pop songs in ‘Memory No 1’ through to full-blooded blues rock songs such as ‘It’s Been Too Long’ which literally rings with Gamble’s lead guitar.

This isn’t just a tour for fans of the blues; it is an opportunity to witness mastery at work and celebrate two of the finest New Zealand musicians ever to grace the stage as they show off the full range of their talent in some of the best venues in the country.

Tickets available 14 August from Ticketek.
