Forget any talk about the 'seedy underbelly of society' because it's time for an underbelly experience of a completely different kind! E-Lysaah of dance troupe The Red Queens has arranged a real treat for lovers of tribal dance, bringing together a star lineup of performers for one night only at The Loons in Lyttelton.

The star attraction is undoubtedly Melusina of Underbelly Dance in Melbourne, who will be performing in New Zealand for the first time. Melusina is considered to be Australia's top belly-dance performer in both classical and tribal fusion dances. She has a unique and passionate style and is best known for her expertise in sword dancing.

She will be joined onstage by Jamilla Ruffiah, Marie from the Red Queens and the Lost Tribe dancers from Dunedin. After the belly dance has finished for the evening the Dunedin drumming group, Mis Repercussions, will lead a drumming circle so bring along your tabla, darbuka or doumbek and join in for an improv tribal belly dancing and drumming session.

The Belly Dance Show is on at The Loons on Saturday 27 September, so get together a group of friends and prepare to be entertained by some passionate performers who will amaze and delight you.
