Following on from its enormously successful production of Handel’s Messiah late last year, acclaimed chamber choir The Tudor Consort presents the first concert of its 2009 Subscription Season, Songs of the Sun and Moon.

This programme features a wide selection of atmospheric a cappella choral music inspired by the sun and moon, starting from the music of the early dawn and progressing through the afternoon hours to evening and twilight. Music Director Michael Stewart describes the music and accompanying lighting to be “a feast for the eyes as well as the ears” as the Adam Concert Room is transformed with solar brilliance and cold lunar light to reflect these evocative works.

Featuring music by Lassus, Tallis, Holst, Walton and Ligeti.
