The X7s Dance Band is Wellington’s own “little big band” specialising in dance music from the various eras professionally arranged and played in the right style and tempo for dancing, or just for listening pleasure.

The musicians are all ex members of the 7th Wellington and Hawkes Bay Battalion Band who have been playing together now for over 25 years, having reformed as the X7s on their discharge from the Territorial Army.

The Band is in constant demand in the Wellington region for Balls and Social functions and run their own very popular Sunday Tea Dances.

Recent engagements in Wellington include Government House Garden Parties, Formal Dinners and Open Days, Parliamentary Open Days, Cosmopolitan Club Balls, RSA and Working Men’s Club Balls, Town Hall Charity Balls, warm up band for the World of Wearable Art Awards and two appearances on TV One’s “Good Morning” programme. The Band also travels regularly to Rotorua for the Jazz Club Balls and Wanganui for the Castlecliff Club Balls.

The Band line-up is as follows:
Trumpet and Vocals - Vern Greenham
Saxophones - Ron Pledger (Band Manager)
Trombone - Dave Conning
