Paint the Town Red is our major fundraising event for the year. This year’s auction event is planned to delight and deliver funds to our LEC.

Paint the Town Red ‘10 will take place inside the Old McLean Mansion. Built in the Jacobean style in 1899 by bachelor Allan McLean, Holly Lea (as it was then named) was considered to be the largest wooden residence in New Zealand in its time. Have you ever wondered what’s inside? This is your chance.

Enjoy pre-auction drinks in the drawing room with Labour Leader Phil Goff, before gathering in the Central Gallery for an auction of sought-after artworks – including a commission for your portrait to be painted by acclaimed artist Sally Hope and a very collectable 1/20 woodcut by Southland artist Nigel Brown, among others. As well, there will be hard to find experiences, quirky Labour treasures and the famous Red Bags.

Delicious nibbles and fine wines and fellowship with Labour members and supporters will combine to make a memorable evening for you and your friends. Make sure you book your tickets early.
