A free-spirited amalgam of organic improvisation and contemporary grooves.

Drummer & bandleader Reuben Bradley presents music off his latest release Resonator on the Rattle Jazz label. After tracking down master drummer Barry Altschul in New York, Reuben undertook a series of lessons that changed his musical landscape forever. This album is the result. Resonator references the jazz tradition while pursuing various rhythms, textures and moods that reflect Reuben’s eclectic musical personality. This is an album of rich musical diversity, where high art meets a free-spirited amalgam of organic improvisation and contemporary grooves.

“Diverse and confident, this is an album that is rich in energy as it is in musical styles, having created an eclectic mix of improvisations and grooves. Bradley’s compositions rise and fall with rhythmic textures that intrigue and sometimes surprise… tastefully packaged and well produced Rattle Jazz album of eight beautifully crafted compositions… it is highly recommended.” -NZ Musician

"The new generation of New Zealand jazz musicians has moved up several notches if the confident energy and conceptual awareness shown on this debut CD by Reuben Bradley's band is anything to go by." -Mike Nock
