The Unfaithful Ways (Lyttelton)
The Tiny Lies (Lyttelton)
John the Baptist (Wgtn)

The Eastern are packing the banjo, along with fellow Lyttelton dwellers The Unfaithful Ways, The Tiny Lies, and harbour skulker Delaney Davidson, to bring a stellar line up of foot-stomping alt-country, bluegrass and folk-inspired songs to the San Francisco Bath House. Wellington's John the Baptist open so don't be late. It's a night to be reckoned with so lace yr boots and prime yr cuts! There's a hoedown to be had!

Having spent the last few years touring solidly through New Zealand The Eastern have not let up, releasing their second album 'Arrows' last March. Dedicating themselves full-time to their music The Eastern play it like they mean it, clocking up over 200 shows a year. Referred to as "...the first New Zealand band in a long time to do things the good old-fashioned way" (Simon Sweetman, Dom. Post) The Eastern have toured the U.S., appearing on primetime television during Barack Obama's presidential campaign, shared the stage with Fleetwood Mac, Steve Earle, The Jayhawks, Old Crow Medicine Show and Band of Gold, to name a few, and recently joined up with NZ country legend Barry Saunders to perform at the ‘Band Together Canterbury’ concert in Christchurch.

At times a lonesome duo, songwriters Adam McGrath and Jess Shanks will be accompanied by a full band and are ready to whip the capital on its feet, espousing whiskey ramblings with sweet and soaring harmonies in true Americana fashion. Adam McGrath says of the eminent visit, "The Eastern are weak at the knees at the thought of bringin' some of their Lyttelton buddies up to the big city to throwdown at the Bathhouse”

Returning to the homeland from his fifth world tour, Delaney Davidson will be performing his 'vagabond folk' songs from his third album 'Self Decapitation' (Voodoo Rhythm). With no time to lay down his hat it's not surprising that the songs were written and recorded in various cities across the world, such as San Francisco, Berlin, and Wellington, then mixed in Montebelluna, Italy.

During the extensive release tour for 'Self Decapitation' throughout Europe and the U.S., Davidson has been selling the album out of a suitcase in 100% Johnson hobo-style, and receiving rave reviews. Jon Behm of Culture Bully describes of 'Self Decapitation' as being, "...filled with an underlying dread" and that, "...as with the great bluesmen of old, there is enough yarn and mystery to Decapitation to keep any listener entranced for days."
