Celebrating our 15th year of touring total immersion reo Māori language theatre throughout Aotearoa, Taki Rua Productions proudly presents our newest whakaari (play), Matapihi ki te Ao (Window to the World).

Four performers weave their stories together to shape a show that explores the theme of journey. These are the journeys we take both inside and outside ourselves in order to seek new horizons. Matapihi ki te Ao is inspired by the stories of our tīpuna (ancestors), our environments, and our imaginations. Matapihi ki te Ao takes a look at our need to follow our passion, to look out for tohu (signs) along the way, and the different windows we all look out of at the world.

In addition to the performance, we will be delivering drama workshops with a focus on the making process and developing the attitude that performing arts is a strong way to articulate personal as well as wider questions, for an individual or group.
