Jazz Festival treat: the Sue Pugmire Combo plays @ Flavour Bistro. Take a meal with this Combo.
People who go to see and hear the Sue Pugmire Combo will not be disappointed.
This group of exceptionally talented musicians not only play all kinds of styles in the jazz genre including swing, funk, Latin, ballads, blues & bebop, but they do it with exceptional musicianship, a sense of fun and exciting impromtu improvisations..
Vocalist Sue Pugmire’s range swings from sweet and soulful, to bluesy and raunchy. Stephanie McKenzie can seemingly make her instruments do anything, Chris Dann’s piano playing is amazingly innovative and inventive, while guitarist, David Iwikau, has been compared to guitar greats Joe Satriani, Tommy Emmanuel and Joe Pass. The rhythm section, with Matt Cave (bass) & Hayden Lauridsen (drums/percussion) keep the music – and the audience – moving. And with sounds like these, who could keep still?
Together, the Sue Pugmire Combo leave the most critical and exacting of jazz buffs satisfied and smiling.
