The Taranaki Re-Generation Tour is an eight day community action & entertainment festival travelling around Mount Taranaki from the 20th to the 27th of March.

• Saturday 20th - Okato
Okato Street Carnival 10am-dusk @ the old school. Some costs for carnival rides.
Live music “Delta Jazz Trio” & “Marie Maka”, farmers market, workshops, movies & rides.

• Sunday 21st - Opunake
Eco-Tour - 9am @ Heaphy Place. Gala Day 11.30-3pm @ Opunake High School with movies & live music. Bike tour leaves 3pm. Discussion @ Orimupiko marae (Eltham Rd) from 7pm

• Monday 22nd Hawera
Food for thought dinner (tickets $40) 5.30pm @ Marlene’s Kitchen, 129 Fairfield Rd.Live Music “John Weir” + movies – from 7.30 pm (free)

• Tuesday 23rd - Eltham
Workshops & movies from 3.30pm @ Soldiers Park.

• Wednesday 24th - Stratford
Plantings & workshops 10.30am @ Whakahurangi Marae. Workshops, movies & live music from 1pm @ the PAC Centre (opp New World). Live music @ Crossroads Bar from 9.00 pm.

• Thursday 25th - Inglewood
Pizza oven workshop from 10am @ Inglewood High School. Market day & harvest festival Competitions @ Town Centre from 2-6pm. Live music & movies @ Fern Lodge from 6pm.

• Friday 26th - Waitara
Workshops, fire sculptures & a beach cleanup from 1-6pm @ Marine Parade. Live Music – “Ire Exit” & Fire Dance from 7pm.

• Saturday 27th - New Plymouth
Workshops & movies & sausage sizzle @ Marfell Combined Culture Centre, 56 Cook St. 11-3pm. The Hour of Power – Glow murals & live band “Ire Exit” @ Puke Ariki Landing 6.30pm-late

Most events are 100% free. The Okato Carnival rides will have a cost, as will the Food For Thought Dinner in Hawera.

Each town of the tour will host the Regeneration crew, who have worked with community leaders to create a day of community connection & celebration with practical outcomes.

Each town’s event has local flavour in the form or music, speakers, workshops, celebrations and community projects.

Come along for the fun factor and help out with the community connection days. Meet your neighbours and the people down the road in a family friendly atmosphere.

Dance the fire dance at Waitara’s fire festival, enjoy the street carnival in Okato, or take in the glow of the Hour of Power in New Plymouth, Each town offers the fun factor, practical hands–on workshops and community actions.
