Lia Hills’ The Beginner’s Guide to Living is a compelling novel for young adults (and up) about grief and reading, ideas and experience, and about those moments in your life that change you forever. It has received international attention and rave reviews.

Born in Wellington, now living in Melbourne, Lia is a poet and novelist whose work has been published and translated internationally. She pauses for a moment during a whirlwind tour, having been short-listed for the New Zealand Post Children’s Book Awards, to sit and talk with Tina Shaw.

Presented as a part of the Auckland Writers and Readers Festival.
