Written by University of Canterbury Social Work lecturer Nikki Evans and her daughter, Eloise Jerome and the Jitterbugs deals with the childhood mental condition ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and the role of animals in therapy.

The book launch will feature a live petting zoo for children and adults alike to enjoy.

Animal-assisted therapy involves using a suitable live animal to facilitate therapeutic processes in interventions with people. This method is frequently used with children and older adults.

Presented as a part of the University of Canterbury's Platform Arts Festival 2010, a dynamic 11 day extravaganza of art, lectures, theatre, music and film.
