Outstanding German pianist Professor Michael Endres will present two lecture recitals for the University of Canterbury Platform Arts Festival.

Michael has an extensive prize-winning discography and performs worldwide as a soloist and chamber music partner. Michael holds a Master’s degree from the Juilliard School, New York, and has a distinguished career as Professor of Piano from the Cologne Hochschule fuer Musik and Germany’s leading college Hanns Eisler in Berlin. He has recorded 27 CDs including the complete sonatas of Mozart, Schubert and Carl Maria von Weber, plus Ravel’s complete works for piano.

His recent appointment to the University of Canterbury as Professor of Music means he is now able to perform to New Zealand audiences. He will perform two exciting lecture recitals of the great composers Frederick Chopin and Robert Schumann.
