Producing monochromatic, abstract and geometric works Elizabeth Thomson, Darryn George and John Reynolds are artists who achieve the “essence” of something refined and pared down to just what is needed; speaking through the medium of pure form.

Shadow and the play of light on form and surfaces are essential to Thomson’s perspectives and optically challenging compositions. They make us aware of the limits of both eye and the rational mind.

George produces hard edges with the smoothest surfaces which express void and simplicity. What is unique about George’ art is the subtleness with which he mixes traditional indigenous art forms with Western abstraction.

John Reynolds deliberately seeks to be light and whimsical, emphasising a sense of play in his art practice. Reynolds appreciates lightness as the strongest point of difference. His inventiveness and willingness to push the boundaries is one of the most challenging and controversial aspects about his paintings and sculpture.
