The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra (NZSO) and special guest Dame Malvina Major, will perform live at the Michael Fowler Centre in Wellington as a part of The Guinness Peat Group Tour.

Tecwyn Evans - conductor
Dame Malvina Major - soprano

The programme will include:
• Ritchie - French Overture
• Gounod - Faust Ah! Je ris de me voir
• Bellini - Norma Casta Diva
• Puccini - Madama Butterfly Un bel di vedremo, Tosca Vissi d’arte, Gianni Schicchi O mio babbino caro
• Elgar - Symphony No.1

Dame Malvina Major sings beloved highlights from the operatic repertoire. Puccini’s heroines, like lovestruck Butterfly or the imperious Tosca, ‘live on art and on love’ and announce it in full voice. Dame Malvina Major has played many of these roles during her distinguished career.

New Zealander Tecwyn Evans, as conductor, is the perfect partner in this repertoire with a long association with opera that began in earnest at the famed Glyndebourne Opera and continues with his most recent appointment to the Graz Opera, one of Europe’s leading companies.

Tickets will be available from Ticketek.
