"Scratch" is a kids animation program built by MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) in their world-famous Media Lab. Half a million children and educators around the globe are now involved. Anyone can animate and program. It's free and it's easy to use.

Every year on a Saturday in May a "Scratch Day" is held in each country, allowing "Scratchers" to meet and showing newcomers how it all works. This year will be the first time NZ is involved!

NZ Scratch Day is hosted by Learning Media in the Wellington CBD. Open to all but especially kids from six years old to early teens - come along and see how Scratch communities work, how Scratch helps teachers and parents, and see some great innovative projects by some very creative children!

Detail is on the Scratch Day website - click our country on the map to see details of the event.
