You'll be able to purchase your very own copy of this long awaited CD 'Island Summer' at this release gig! The CD from Pos Mavaega's show Island Summer presented by Pacific Underground was recorded in Dunedin, Christchurch and Las Vegas. The slick arrangements of original songs by Pos Mavaega and Tanya Muagututi'a; as well as traditional Samoan hymns are transferred from stage to CD in its purest form of vocal and acoustic ensemble guitar dreamland.

Producer and musician Pos Mavaega and engineers Dale Cotton and Rob Payne offer this sophomore recording for Pacific Underground, 11 years after its first highly acclaimed album 'Landmark' which featured the earliest recordings of Scribe, the Naked Samoans, DJs Ali and Pause, Tanya Muagututi'a, Chris Searle and Pos Mavaega.

Named as Pos's 'wing men', flanking him on stage and in studio are the incomparable Andrew Sione (Tribalincs) and Hemi Lesatele, with resident PU drummer Chris Searle, and long time collaborator on bass Seta Timo.

Pos's legendary show which has featured a 25 piece orchestra in festivals - Christchurch Arts Festival, Tangata O le Moana Opening festival at Te Papa in Wellington, the Dunedin Fringe festival - will be staged at the release party.

Supported by "18 Thursdays" - Pip Laufiso, Hiliako Iaheto, Pos Mavaega and Tanya Muagututi'a.
