In October 2009, André Rieu visited Auckland with a jubilant '30th Anniversary Tour' concert at Vector Arena. Celebrating 30 years of performing, Rieu, his soloists and The Johann Strauss Orchestra wowed with a collection of songs including waltzes by Frans Lehár and Johann Strauss, the Spanish 'España Cani' and a traditional Dutch 'Klompendans' (clog dance).

The biggest surprise for Rieu fans came when the concert was finished and the announcement of a 2010 New Zealand concert was made.
