Looking at different approaches with Dr Douglas Osto, Lecturer in Religious Studies Massey University. Cultivating the correct attitude has been central to the Buddhist tradition. While different Buddhist traditions have different views about death and what happens at the time of death, all agree that death is a natural consequence of living and should be entered with a calm, balanced mind. In this talk, Dr Osto will look at materials from the early Pali sources, the Tibetan tradition of the Bardo state between death and rebirth, and some Zen approaches to dying.
