The 22nd New Zealand Masters Games will be held in Wanganui, New Zealand in February 2011. With 64 separate sports offering over 550 different events it has the biggest selection and is the largest multi-sport event in the country.

The only qualification to participation is age, with fun and excitement being the main focus despite gold, silver and bronze medals being up for grabs in each event. Each sport sets the minimum entry age and with some being as low as 20 years old there is no real excuse not to be part of this great festival of sport. 9 days and 10 nights of sports and socialising awaits you in Wanganui with top-class entertainment arranged every evening at the infamous Games Village in Springvale Park where friends old and new will gather to renew old rivalries or just reminisce.

Taking in over 45 different sporting venues, there is a huge variety to choose from with everything from aerobics and archery through to woodchopping and yachting. Virtually every sport offers both social and competitive grades so experience is not a requirement. Why not have a go at something you have never done before! The intimacy and friendliness of the River City means no matter where you stay you are within 10-15 minutes of every sports venue and with the Games Village centrally located in the city, why not make it your home away from home.

This is your chance to have a great time doing what you love and soaking up as much relaxation or excitement as you can handle. The Games' theme for 2011 is Tropical Beach Party, so pack your boardies, thongs and straw hat so you don't look out of place as the party goes beach - Kiwi style. Make sure you are in Wanganui in that 1st week of February to soak up the unique atmosphere of people doing what they want. No fashion parade here, just let it all hang out, man!
