Sprint the bay is a series of 6 sprint orienteering events (both urban and non-urban) run over 3 days in the lovely sunny Hawke's Bay in New Zealand. The times for each day are compounded to find an overall winner at the end of the weekend. Much like in le tour de France there is a 'Yellow Singlet' worn by the current leaders in the men's and women's elite competitions. Sprint the Bay is designed to be as spectator friendly as possible and also provides a great atmosphere for all competitors!

The event caters for runners/walkers of all ages and ability. So for something different and fun this summer, give Sprint the Bay a go!

Stage 4 - Sleeping Giant

This is a brand new sprint map that has been begging to be mapped for many years. The terrain covers the forested areas of the Te Mata Park reserve and some of the farmland areas. The terrain is very steep in places, but the courses will be set mostly downhill. With an extensive track network, accurately mapped vegetation and rock detail, route choice and speed control will be major factors in taking the win.
