Join in the fun as some of Margaret Mahy’s best-loved stories are woven together into one enjoyable and imaginative show. Magical Mahy comes to life on stage.

Term time shows:
11 - 15 July, 10.30am & 1pm daily
Bring your class, school, home school group or early childhood centre to A Lion in the Meadow and Other Stories as part of your school year. Public also welcome.

Children's art exhibition:
Download the Art Exhibition Template from and bring along your art work for it to be displayed in the Children's Art Exhibition. Prizes across three age categories and one overall winner include books and free passes to our next show.

Costume parade:
Dress up as one of your favourite Lion in the Meadow or The Witch in the Cherry Tree characters for the costume parade at the start of the show.

Gala opening performance:
Saturday 16 July 4pm
Drinks and nibbles provided, giveaways for children, as well as lucky prize draws. A chance to meet the cast and crew after the show.

There is a free carpark next to the PumpHouse Theatre which is accessed down the driveway off Manurere Ave. If this is full, there is another free car park accessed via a driveway into Killarney Park opposite Takapuna Primary School and Auburn Street.
