First session: Toastmasters Insight presented by Sarah Bate and Peter Scholtens:
Talent needs training, and our talent at communicating needs it no less than any other skill that we develop in life. Fortunately there is a gym for the voice - Toastmasters. This globally recognised organisation has a tried, tested and proven history of providing a supportive and encouraging environment for the development of communication and leadership skills. New Zealand is well represented in the global picture, and in the Wellington region alone there are around 50 clubs providing this opportunity at a time and day to suit you. Sarah Bate, Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) and Division Governor for the Greater Wellington, and Peter Scholtens, DTM and past Division Governor for Wellington, are well versed in the opportunities available in Toastmasters and will provide an insight into the fun and growth you can achieve by attending Toastmasters and training your talent.

Second Session: Finding Your Voice: can you be a speaker with nothing to say? Presented by Stuart Fleming:
Natural ability? Check.
Platform dynamics? Check.
Audience rapport? Yes.
Product concepts? Yup!

But what if you’re having trouble honing your message? If you haven’t overcome a physical challenge or beaten the business odds, it can be difficult to pinpoint just what you want to share from the platform in a way that will be authentic and memorable.

Christchurch-based NSA member Stuart Fleming has grappled with this dilemma for several years. An experienced master of ceremonies and volunteer trainer/facilitator, Stuart has ridden the rollercoaster of topic redevelopment and market positioning long enough to make him queasy.

In this reflective session, Stuart will lead you through a fascinating process of:
Considering what your ‘soap box’ topics are
Understanding why those topics fire you up
Appreciating why you are the perfect person to speak
Don’t suffer from linguistic laryngitis any longer - come and find (or confirm) your voice!

Post - event session: 'Speakers Insights' Roundtable Discussion:
The Fast Track To CSP: Ten Simple Steps To Professional Excellence

We will, again, be hosting our very first 'Speakers Insights Roundtable for members only between 8pm and 8.45pm after the event.

The topic of discussion over a few drinks will be the postponed : 'The Fast Track To CSP: Ten Simple Steps To Professional Excellence, facilitated by Member Mark Cross, which will include the checklists and documents we covered at the last Speakers Insight Roundtable.

We look forward to seeing you there!
