From 2004 to 2007, Jonny Doom and the Forcefields were notorious for pushing the threshold of the Auckland ska scene. The eight-piece recklessly wore their ska, powerpop, screamo, metal, jazz and classical influences on their sleeves, the result being a frighteningly electric hybrid of noise. They became known for their chaotic live performances as much as their aggressive, upbeat approach to ska. In their short stint as a band, The Forcefields shared the stage with the likes of The WBC, The Offbeats, The Managers, The Poisoners, Geneva, 4ManBob and Odessa, as well as Coolie Ranx (US) and Skaladdin (Switzerland). They were also a staple feature at LollyLegs' annual SKA-B-Q. In May, 2005, The Forcefields released their debut EP, 'Hey Jen!', which quickly sold out. Their second EP, 'The Corporation That Turned The Sun Into Jelly' was released in August 2006, and is still available through band members and from Real Groovy.
