Joni Bridge and Danielle Johnson invite you to experience their abstract and beguiling nature-based photography which offers the viewer the chance to indulge in a rarely-glimpsed world composed of magnified patterns and textures, and the discrete processes of change that they are subject to. There is a strong interest shared by both photographers in the act of visually recording the ongoing transformations occurring in the world that surrounds us – elements fuse and synthesise, for example, and silhouettes replace familiarity at nighttime.

It is hoped that the photos on show here can inspire people to look more closely at these otherwise-obscure moments of transformation on the earth. Once we begin to immerse ourselves in the ‘micro’ level of transformation, it is possible to see that we are not so different from the world ‘out there’ since we are also subject to discrete shifts and changes as we move through our lives. We are able to sense a closer connection to the world in which we dwell, to slow down, embrace and enjoy what we have right now.

Open every day, 11am-4pm and 6pm-9pm. Evening visitors can enjoy a complementary glass of wine from the vineyards of Churton, Marlborough, Sileni, Hawkes Bay or Te Mania, Nelson.
