Parents are concerned about the impact drug and alcohol abuse have on our children and young adults. Most would love to somehow ‘drug proof’ their children. Not to closet them away, but to empower them to make wise, healthy choices as they encounter the many temptations laid before them. While the issue is complex and there are no simple solutions, there is good news!

Research clearly indicates that the most influential factor in steering children away from drugs is parents! A healthy family environment where there are high levels of parent connectedness and interaction, can reduce the risk of harmful drug use by children. This six week course equips parents to establish protective factors that will assist their children to make good choices. With an emphasis on prevention this programme is aimed at parents of 8-14 year olds.
