The four piece indie pop band from Auckland have toured extensively throughout New Zealand as well as performing in Australia an America over the last few years, building themselves a strong following in the process.

Their most recent release is the Holy Moly EP. A prelude to their sophomore album to be released in March 2011. Holy Moly spent 8 weeks in the NZ top 40 singles chart and was one of the most played video clips of 2010. The new summer single 'The Big Empty' is hitting the airwaves in late November across the country. Watch out for the Australian release of Holy Moly and subsequent tour in early 2011, also for Motocade playing Homegrown 2011 in Wellington…

Previously Motocade had released their Debut 'Tightrope Highway' to critical acclaim, with catchy first single ‘Oldest Trick In The Book’ firmly securing Motocade on alternative and commercial radio throughout the country and abroad. The title track Tightrope Highway will appear in Cabin in the Woods - MGM feature film in early 2011. After forming in 2005, Motocade released their self titled EP in 2006, followed by the ‘Into the Fall’ EP released in 2007. Both were well received and showed the depth of the band plus their ability to transcend rock, indie and explore experimental pop avenues.

Motocade have gone onto play at a range of New Zealand’s largest music festivals including the Big Day Out, Homegrown and Rhythm and Vines as well as at high profile events such as NZ Fashion Week, and the APRA Silver Scroll Awards. Motocade were also applauded for a stand out performance supporting New York based band The Bravery on their recent New Zealand tour. With a style that fits somewhere in amongst the intensity of The Strokes, the groove of Talking Heads and the scattered beauty of early Kings Of Leon, seeing Motocade live is something not to be missed.
