Australia's Born in a Taxi present A Curious Game as part of the Capital E National Art Festival 2011.

With pomp and ceremony and ridiculous rituals, a bossy queen, a rather stupid knight and a cunning pawn begin a chess game unlike any imagined outside of Alice In Wonderland. The logic of dreams prevail, as the characters come to life on a giant-sized board, giving children the chance to be amazed from the sidelines, or dive right in with the performers. What’s truly curious is that no one knows what the rules are and still everyone’s winning. This physical theatre company is famed for their ability to improvise on the spot and play with the absurd to create works of theatrical invention.

“Born in a Taxi are a captivating group of performers... their theatrical skills are so finely tuned they’re like reflexes, & you never know what they’ll do next...” -Herald Sun, Melbourne

Duration: 35 minutes
Age: 7 - 14 years
