The heart of the creative quarter in New Zealand's creative capital will beat for the people of Christchurch next week when Cuba Street's bars and venues combine forces to present an all-night line-up of entertainment featuring Wellington and Christchurch bands.

The event Cuba For Chch will take place in and around Cuba Street in central Wellington. Confirmed venues include San Francisco Bathhouse, Mighty Mighty, Matterhorn, Good Luck, The Southern Cross and Havana, and more will be confirmed.

Some of the biggest and brightest Wellington bands are in the line-up, which will be announced on RadioActive.FM's Breakfast Show on Friday morning, March 18 8.50am. Organisers are pleased to announce that high-flying noise merchants Bang Bang Eche from Christchurch will be flown up from their devastated city to perform.

Local acts include Barnaby Weir, 47 Diamantes, Eva Prowse, The Family Cactus, Bella Kalolo, The Rounds, DJ Zen, Redbird Jnr, Newtown Rocksteady, Nudge, Kev Fresh, Marek, Gus, TV DiSKO, Maximum Joy and WTFFF.

All proceeds from the passports, in addition to cash collections at all venues and on the street during the event, will go to the Red Cross to assist with relief efforts in Christchurch.

The entry is a $10 “passport”, provided by local fashion house Starfish, which will provide entry to all venues (subject to capacity).
