Workshop 1: Laura Humphreys

Topic: How to create freedom and wealth from your business

Laura Humphreys is not just any business mentor – she teaches business owners how to build a business that will feed them wealth long after they stop working in it. Laura is living proof that what she teaches can be achieved because she has done it, not just once but with three separate businesses. Her first company was an award winning advertising agency which she sold to the international Ogilvy Group and became a multi-millionaire, her second an award winning, nationwide pet care company that is so systematised that its owners only have to work a few hours a week. Now she has a highly leveraged online mentoring programme teaching business owners everything she knows.

Laura Humphreys became financially independent when she built a very successful advertising agency, Red Rocks, from scratch and sold it to multinational group Ogilvy just 9 years later. During those 9 years Red Rocks won Advertising Agency of the Year and named “New Zealand’s Premiere Boutique Agency” by NBR. Laura was the first woman finalist for Agency CEO of the Year, alongside the CEOs of New Zealand’s largest agencies. Red Rocks grew from nothing to over $20 million in billings, with clients such as Kiwibank, IRD and the Air Force. After selling Red Rocks, Laura went on to create Pet Angels Ltd, a highly systemised online pet services business which is now being sold as a license model across New Zealand. Pet Angels was named Best SME in the 2009 Wellington Her Business Woman of the year. Laura and her business partner also won the Supreme Business woman of the Year Award in the same year.

Laura is passionate about teaching business owners how to create wealth and freedom from their business through her online mentoring programme, Liber8me. Laura believes that a viable exit strategy and a plan to achieve your goals are critical steps to having the business and the life of your dreams.
