Spend an intimate evening with NZ singer/songwriters Daniel Munro & Chanelle Davis at one of Picton's coolest cafes and live music venues. This is the pair's first South Island show since their 07/08 summer tour, where they performed to a packed Boathouse Theatre in Blenheim.

Chanelle Davis
Her voice is like smoked honey, her songs luscious and sticky. Think pop/folk with a jazz kick, and you’ve got a sweet little box to put Chanelle Davis in.

Chanelle is a New Zealand singer/songwriter currently based in Melbourne. She has released two solo albums – ‘Better Than Alone’ in 2006 and ‘Since Yesterday’ in 2008, distributed by ODE records. Since yesterday features the song ‘Dear Jon’ which won the 2007 New Zealand Songwriters’ Trust Award, judged by songwriter Don McGlashan.

In 2009/2010 Chanelle travelled around Australia, Canada and America collecting inspiration for her upcoming 3rd album. She also studied in Boston with author of 'Writing Better Lyrics', Pat Pattison.

The songs that pour from her are predominantly piano-driven, but on a cold winter’s evening you’ll find Chanelle curled up in bed with an acoustic guitar. Her lyrics are fresh and well crafted, yet sound conversational and timeless. Her major influences include jazz artists like Rickie Lee Jones and Nina Simone, as well as folk singer/songwriters like Jewel and Carole King.

A natural entertainer, Chanelle can make a theatre feel like a living room concert with her intimate storytelling and unique charm. You will laugh. You might cry. You will definitely sing along, and most likely you will fall in love with this beautiful songwriter.

Daniel Munro
Daniel Munro is a 27 year old singer/songwriter/guitarist who has been performing live since the age of 13. Daniel spent 2 years developing his creative talents at EIT where he was vocally trained by Opera tenor Patrick Powers. His passion for music ranges from classic rock songs to theatrical performances. In 2007 he secured the lead for the Hawkes Bay production of “Cats”.

Daniel’s short career has taken him to many heights. From performing for the Governor General, to playing support for international rock star Eric Clapton and New Zealand artists Tiki Tane, Don McGlashan, The Feelers, Shona Laing, Goodnight Nurse and Sam Hunt.

Daniel has an extensive repertoire of original songs and covers, and is available to perform solo or with a band at corporate shows, public concerts, festivals and private engagements. He is currently recording his latest album, which will be released in late 2011.
