The contributors of Beyond the Persimmon Tree talk about the process of getting their work in print. Published by International Writers’ Workshop NZ Inc in Takapuna and named after a moving short story by up-and-coming North Shore writer Gay Johnson, Beyond the Persimmon Tree is an anthology of the best fiction, non-fiction and poetry from 38 talented past and present IWW members.

Many of the 100 short stories and poems are competition winners including America by Mairangi Bay poet Alice Hooton, winner of the inaugural Kathleen Grattan Prize for a Sequence of Poems, in 2009.

A great event for emerging writers who may be thinking of publishing their own books, with the opportunity to ask questions.

12 noon - refreshments; 12.15 pm - author talk.
RSVP: Helen Woodhouse (09) 486 8469 │ helenw@shorelibraries.govt.nz
