1st session: Speaking Freely
Presented by Jade Valour
The human voice is a unique and fascinating instrument, capable of expressing a virtually infinite spectrum of emotion, feeling, thought. It can move to tears or to action; it can terrify and inspire. Our voice is an integral part of our personality, yet we take it very much for granted and are only marginally aware of its greater potential. How much more would we be capable of as speakers by increasing our vocal awareness? This presentation is about becoming better acquainted with the miracle that is your voice.

Jade Valour is a native New Yorker, a professional actor and classically trained singer who has worked in theatre and music for several decades, both on stage and behind the scenes. She has taught vocal technique/production and presentation skills to actors, singers and speech therapists for 20 years, in professional institutions in Germany, and now in New Zealand where she has been living for the past three and a half years. Many of her students have gone on to successful careers in their respective fields.

“Jade is a…talented teacher with a passion for life…and patience and persistence that are a compliment to her.” - Sir Richard Taylor, Director, Weta Workshop
