Bagpipes with attitude. Drums with a Scottish accent. A blazing rock band and a show so hot it carries its own health warning!

The Red Hot Chilli Pipers have been rocking the world from New York to Beijing with musicianship of the highest order and a passion for pipes that will leave you breathless; and now they’re coming to The Venue – Musicbar, Christchurch.

Voted Scotland’s Live Act of the Year in both 2007 and 2010 the Red Hot Chilli Pipers play a fusion of traditional pipe tunes and contemporary anthems.

Tracks include the likes of Clocks (Coldplay), Chasing Cars (Snow Patrol), Let Me Entertain You (Robbie Williams) and Queen's We Will Rock You, a rock medley of Deep Purple's Smoke On The Water and AC/DC's Thunderstruck. Plus, Flower of Scotland, Amazing Grace and The Hills of Argyll – all Chilli style of course!

Joining the Red Hot Chilli Pipers will be one of Scotland’s best kept secrets – stand up comedian, Des McLean. Hailing from Glasgow, Des McLean is cited by Billy Connolly as being his favourite comedian. Des famously recorded a series of wind-up telephone calls for Radio Clyde that became the most talked about feature on the station, fooling stars like Sean Connery, Rod Stewart and Joan Rivers. The CD releases of these calls and live DVD’s of his stand-up comedy have become best sellers across Scotland.
