In a once in a lifetime event, 11 ships of the Royal New Zealand Navy will visit Wellington to mark the 70th anniversary of the Navy's founding on 1 October 1941.

Events start off on Thursday with the entry of the ships into Wellington harbour and a 21 gun salute to His Excellency the Governor General of New Zealand from the HMNZS Te Mana.

- Saturday 1 October
1000-1200: the public are invited to attend the changing of the Queen's Colour at Parliament Grounds.
1200-1230: 400 sailors will parade from Parliament along Lambton Quay to Civic Square.
1200-1600: five ships will be open to visits on Queen's Wharf and Taranaki Street Terminal.

- Sunday 2 October
1000: Wreathlaying at the National War Memorial
1100-1500: Ships open to visitors, Queen's Wharf and Taranaki Street Terminal.
1400-1600: RNZN Anniversary Church Service, Cathedral of St Pauls. Members of the public are invited to attend but must be seated by 2.00pm.

- Monday 3 October
1300-1500: The fleet will be in the harbour between Aotea Quay and Matiu Somes Island for a Fleet Review by His Excellency the Governor General of NZ. Ships will begin to depart Wellington about 1700.
