World Record Rockfest brings together some of the best rock bands on offer in New Zealand to rock the pants off of local and international Queenstown residents. This whole shindig is being thrown by the lovely chaps at World Record for Charity with the goal of raising money to help those affected by the Christchurch Earthquake, which nearly destroyed our second biggest city.

Headline act Mercury Crowe have become favourites around Queenstown since playing at Winterfest and they promise to bring even more energy when they play at World Record Rockfest. They’ll be supported by Diesel Phoenix who were voted NZ’s favourite band in 2009 and The Dirty Sweets, a filthy rock band from Auckland. Local boys Paranoid Circle will open the gig with their metal-laden sound.

With the concert being held on the 23d of September it’s the perfect way to mourn the end of the ski season.
