This is the next monthly networking event of Auckland ICT. Gain some fresh insights into issues facing business owners and hear the latest economic update from ANZ, which is kindly sponsoring the event.

The ANZ Privately-Owned Business Barometer is an annual, nationwide survey, providing valuable insights into what's important for New Zealand business owners.

The focus is on four key areas:
* growth (including constraints to growth, international growth and growth funding)
* business planning
* the role of independent expertise
* succession planning (change of ownership)

In 2011 (the 5th year the survey has been undertaken) the Barometer shows is that the majority of businesses are planning to grow. But with economists still forecasting tough times ahead, it's important that business owners are mindful of the environment and have a plan of action to ensure they are able to take advantage of opportunities.

Brent Evans, Regional Manager Auckland CBD, ANZ Commercial & Agri, will briefly highlight the 2011 Barometer findings, and introduce the 2012 Barometer, which has been expanded to include a broader range of businesses.

Economic outlook:
Sharon Zoellner joined the Economics team in 2010. She started her career as a macroeconomist at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand in 1998, and has also worked at the Central Bank of Norway.
