"I’m often unable to commit to watching a film, and find myself spending hours watching trailers.
Perhaps this is an experience of area rather than depth. Three acts in two and a half minutes.
A common reaction to large sculpture is to get your photo taken with it.
Fake movie torrents give you movie sized dupe files, which are locked. You are left with an invisible weight.
I really don’t know what is in them.
Size feels serious."
- Ben Clement

Ben Clement’s practise regularly engages with the processes by which media is filtered through the screen format, maintaining an interest in both overt and covert promotional languages. In Cried in the Trailer, the trailer becomes a referent for experience, also evoking the film industry’s battle against a media form increasingly mobilised by ‘personal’ formats and shared file distribution.

FrontBox is available for viewing 24 hours a day on St Paul St
