It is 1969, and we are at the infamous “Peoples Park Sit-in” in Berkeley California. It is an anti-war rally. As the major figures of the civil rights movement grandstand their cause, they are joined by a prominent rock star, “Bobby” (based on Mick Jagger) and a French movie star, “Brigitte” (based on Brigitte Bardot). These folks are awe inspiring but not as captivating as “Charlie” (based on Charles Manson) who arrives with his entourage encouraging the group to “belong” and “join the family”. All is one big party until the National Guard sweep in and arrest “Angela” (based on Angela Davis). Disillusionment and discouragement set in. Charlie tries to seduce the beautiful Brigit, but is rejected. In a fit of rage and provoked by his ex-lover “Gloria” (based on Gloria Steinem) he decides to try his hand at mass suicide, and poisons the ‘magic kool-aid’ for all to drink, to which they all greedily accept on the promise of yet the highest ‘high’…

Needless to say, there is a happy ending to all this, and when the dust settles they all board a Greyhound bus bound for a ‘love-in’ in San Francisco.

With an all-star cast and 5 piece band.

Jefferson Airplane, The Beach Boys, Janis Joplin, Stephen Stills, Burt Bacharach, Youngblood, Santana, The Doors, Sly and The Family Stone, The Mamas and The Papas, Nancy Sinatra, Jim Hendrix and The Eagles.
