AUSA and 95bFM present End of Daze: The Chilled Out Edition.

Ah, another academic year is quickly coming to a close. It seems like O-Week was just yesterday. Let us book-end the year the only way we know how. Chillin’ in the sun with good (cheap) brews, good friends and f*$king good music. And a final attempt to make a pass at that hottie in Economics 101 before the year ends.

The annual End of Daze celebration is fast approaching and we’ve collected the best soundtrack for you to start your holiday/studying break! Departing from the aural assault of electronic music from past years, we’re taking a more relaxing route this year.

After releasing brilliant music for free and cultivating a strong online fan-base, Loui The Zu is a Zimbabwean-born, Auckland-based alt rapper who's preparing to dominate New Zealand music. Smooth flow and sick beats are a staple of this extremely talented young man.

Alongside Zu is the fantastic New Zealand band The Wyld. After releasing their debut album Full Circle earlier this year, the three-piece band have been ripping it up with their unique blend of alternative rock and hip-hop, with a dash of pop in there or good measure.

Joining the line-up is new entrant Randa, a beatmaker/rapper from Auckland who has been garnering attention over the last year for her simple, pop-culture inspired tracks. Her EP Luncbox was released earlier in the year for free on bandcamp. Get amongst it.

And last, but certainly not least, acoustic singer-songwriter Lydia Cole rounds out the line-up. Her latest album Me & Moon deals brutally and frankly with loss and heartbreak. Armed with a clarity in her literal and proverbial voice, she'll stop you in your tracks.

The afternoon runs from 12 till 5pm, which is more than enough time to soak up some rays and become suitably chill after what was (hopefully) a productive semester. But the best part?

Entry is free to everybody (but it is R18). So rally all your friends from AUT or wherever and come get amongst it!
