Locavore [loh-kuh-vawr] n def: a person who attempts to eat only foods grown locally
If you fancy yourself a bit of a locavore, then this event is for you. Hosted by Ray McVinne, you’ll be treated to a gourmet lunch prepared by a well known New Zealand chef using local ingredients from the Hastings Farmers’ Market.
Each table is allocated an award-winning chef, a mystery box of ingredients and Hawke’s Bay wine. It’s then up to you how you want to be involved – whether it’s foraging in the market with the chef for the local produce, or sitting back and soaking up the atmosphere with a glass of Hawke’s Bay wine.
Now here’s a little gem... New Zealand’s own Masterchef Winners-Brett McGregor, Nadia Lim and Chelsea Winter will be among the chefs but it’s the luck of the draw to see if you get them on your table.
Either way, for $66 per person, this event is a foodies dream and for a one-course lunch and wine, fresh coffee, a personal chef (per 12 people) and sitting amongst the gardens at the Farmers’ Market, it’s an event not to be missed.

· Sunday 4 November 10.30am - 1pm
· Restricted 18+
· Seats can be booked individually or as a table of 12
· Masterchefs Brett McGregor, Nadia Lim and Chelsea Winter will be cooking up a storm
