The latest iteration of Gaga: the unmentionable looks at Louise's relationship with her first language, Gagana Samoa or Samoan language and through it, her mother, Lafitaga Matua, who performs in the work.

Anarchic and majestic, Gaga: the unmentionable celebrates the community, professional and in this case familial ties which it takes to support and make art.

Featuring Lafitaga Matua, Nisha Madhan (Show Pony, Shortland Street), Ilasa Galuvao (Aute ma Fagaloa) and Leki Bourke Jackson (The Brave).

Contrary to popular belief, Gaga: the unmentionable by Louise Tu'u is not a tribute show or remotely related to Lady Gaga.

As much as we would love to have her budget and hordes of "monsters", the Gaga actually comes from the hacking of the Samoan word, Gagana which refers to the language. It's also pronounced "nganga", not "gaga".

Incidentally, Gagana is also a bird in Russian folklore with an iron beak and copper claws.

Production design by Kate Burton.

Join us for a night of status, sarcasm and unconditional love.
