Hutt Valley Orchestra welcome you to summer with a little pomp and circumstance as they present a performance celebrating the best of the Last Night of the Proms.

The orchestra will perform a mixture of serious and lighthearted pieces, including the Alla Marcia from Sibelius' Karelia Suite, Morning and Hall of the Mountain King from Grieg's Peer Gynt, and Danzon No. 2 by Arturo Marquez, as well as traditional Proms favorites; Henry Wood's Fantasia on British Sea Songs, Jerusalem and Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1. Audience participation is expected and lyrics will be provided for those who are unsure of the words!

Hutt Valley Orchestra will be joined by soprano soloist, Megan Corby, who will sing Ebben? Ne andro lontana by Catalain and Rusalka's Song to the Moon by Dvorak, as well as leading the audience for Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory. Wellington-based Megan has performed with Opera Victoria, and has been a member of the NBR NZ Opera Chapmann Tripp Opera Chorus since 2001. She has also recorded David Farquhar's 'Swan Songs' for Concert FM.

So, don your red, white and blue, get your vocal chords in gear, come along and enjoy the party!
